We all know how frustrating it is to do everything right, but still not lose any weight. That’s what happened to Erika Andersen, 62, from West Park, N.Y.
It wasn’t always that way for Erika. About 10 years ago she had managed to take off 35 pounds.
No easy feat!
But as the years went by, the weight began to slowly make its way on to her hips (and thighs and stomach) again.
When she decided enough was enough, she made a full-on, 100% now-or-never effort. “I went back to eating lean protein, fruits and veggies, and good fats.”
And that’s not all. She exercised hard 3 times a week (doing both cardio and weight training), and on alternate days she practiced yoga and walked. She made sure to drink plenty of water and got into bed early enough every night for a full night’s rest.
In other words, she says, “I did all the things I had historically relied upon to lose weight.”
So the weight must have come off, right?
For a few weeks, yes.
“But then, nothing.” Erika was frustrated. “I kept doing everything I’d been doing, but my weight didn’t budge.”
For 2 whole months Erika continued to struggle. Then she realized, there MUST be something else going on.
After a bit of Internet sleuthing, Erika happened upon our website. She read what we had to say about weight loss and hormones. And she was, dare I say, impressed.
“I very much appreciated the thoughtful, science-backed approach,” she says. “It was an easy decision to buy.”
She also began taking one of the green drinks I’d recommended in an email.
“I immediately noticed significant changes.”
One change was a surge in energy, but not in that jittery, caffeine-laden way that many supplements often create. “It was a solid, focused sort of energy.”
The increased energy probably was due to the Rhodiola in WLF1. It’s been clinically tested to help you maintain a positive mood and high energy.
“I also noticed a decrease in appetite, especially for sweets.”
I credit a blend of 2 herbal extracts (Piper betle and Dolichos biflorus), which is associated with a 20% decrease in the level of ghrelin — known as the hunger hormone.
Reducing the circulating level of ghrelin may help curb appetite and reduce food intake.
After starting on WLF1, Erika felt it was much easier to stick to her eating plan, as well as to stop eating when she was satisfied (not stuffed!) and to choose healthy foods over junk.
And she felt she got a deeper, more restful night’s sleep.
“By the end of the first week, my clothes were already looser — but I decided to wait for a while to weigh myself. … I didn’t want to be demoralized or distracted if the numbers didn’t start moving right away.”
LOVE that she did that. I often talk about how the scale doesn’t tell the whole story. Every day your weight can fluctuate, primarily based on water retention. It can be frustrating if you see an increase of 1 or 2 pounds from any given day to the next.
Add to that, as you burn fat and increase your muscle mass, as Erika was doing with her healthy eating plan and exercise regimen, you may not necessarily see the results on the scale. You’ve heard that muscle weighs more than fat, right? Well, that’s not truly the case — a pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat (1 pound!), but the pound of muscle takes up much less room than the pound of fat. As you lose fat and gain muscle, your body will get tighter and smaller.
Erika saw that right away.
“This morning I tried on a pair of pants that were unbearably tight when I started taking Weight Loss Formula No. 1 just a month ago — and now they’re perfectly comfortable!”
While Erika still has a few pounds left to lose, she’s confident that within another month or so, she’ll be back at her ideal weight — a weight she was beginning to despair of ever seeing again.
“And best of all, I have no doubt that that weight will be easy to maintain with the help of your excellent products. Thank you so much!”
Thank YOU, Erika, for sharing your story. I just love hearing stories like Erika’s. Stories like hers — and yours — are why I do what I do.

Hi, I'm Dr. Steve Sisskind, Chief Medical Officer & Founder at RealDose Nutrition.
As a young physician, I struggled because my patients came to me with serious health issues, but I didn't have the right tools to help them. Medical school taught me how to put "band aids" on their symptoms with drugs and surgery, but not how to address the root causes of their problems.
Years later I discovered a better approach... based on the fundamental idea that the power of nutrition can transform your health and vitality. But there's a lot of confusion... What foods should I eat? Which supplements should I take? What does the science say?
I have dedicated my life to answering these questions... And I share this knowledge with you every day here at RealDose Nutrition.
I invite you to connect with me by joining my free private community. I've helped thousands of people and I know I can help you too!
